Halide Ballast question - need help asap!!!
 

i have a 28g Nano cube HQI, my lights went out last week, finally got a replacement bulb for it, put it in and now still no light/spark up. im suspecting it is the ballast/gear box, but no one stocks/carries/or can get a new ballast, the only way i have found to get it, is by contacting JBJ itself and ordering one thru them, but that can take upto 6 weeks, i have coral and mushrooms in the tank, no fish. please let me know if anyone has any ideas on how to fix/troubleshoot the problem and if it may be something i can repair myself ! thanks!!!

Just find a used ballast and wire it in place of the old. Likely be a better ballast too.

Go see Kevin @ Red Coral. I do know he has a complete package in stock, maybe you can work out a deal, where he can give you the ballast he has, while he orders the other to replace it for his stock.

Doesn't hurt to ask, give him a call. Worst he can say is NO.
