Cooking rock

Real fast question for you people. I need to cook a couple of my rocks from my main tank, and am wondering ca. I do it in the sump for the same system? I have a bit of HA on some of the rocks but 1 of them is covered in it. So since I don't light my sump, can I use it for cooking?
Thanks

Not recommended :) The die off of algaes could release nutrients (nitrates/phosphates, etc) back into your tank. Cooking your rocks could also kill other things off your rocks that could in turn raise ammonia and cause all sorts of other nasty things to happen, like say, a tank crash.
