Any better way to do this?

Well i have a 90 gallon standard RR tank by aqueon, with one overflow, and i would like to turn it into a herbie, Anyone else do this before?

Also im thinking of using this. http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...m?pcatid=14680

Or does anyone know any better ways??

Thanks a lot,
Tony

ps, sorry if for some reason I should not of posted a link?

Yes, did this with beans 90, and used some pvc and loc-line for the return...

That's a pretty common mod. The only reason to not bring the return up and over the rim of the tank is that it makes it harder to have a good screen top. It also doesn't look as clean, but the benefits of the Herbie outweigh that.

Remember to drill a hole in the return for a siphon break. This is typically a small hole just below the water surface. Some water will exit this hole, so make sure it is pointing down.

The product in the link you provided will work just fine, but you could also just use PVC.

With one overflow and hence only one hole, you can't really do a herbie. You can do a siphon only line but that defeats the purpose of a fail safe system. You can install a durso system. Check this one out http://www.dursostandpipes.com/

I would assume there would be two holes?

There is 2 holes in the overflow right now, I know I'll be able to do a herbie just seeing if there is any better ways than that, but I think that will be fine. Thanks for the info guys.
