Dead Sally
odd to find my sally lightfoot was dead this morning fully intact sitting beside my clam , yet yesterday it was cruising around the tank eating algae displaying nice color not having a problem. anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure it's dead and not just an exoskeleton?

took it out completely intact its definitely the crab

If everything else still looks good i'd chalk it up to a "reef mystery", not much to go on otherwise.

yeah i know strange , i know i have no predators and never used copper in the tank and all other inverts are fine and water is perfect confusing to say the least

Don't forget everything has a life span. It can die at any time... just like us... for no reason.
No way to know anything but what we can see with those buggers. |
yeah its a mystery probably wont get another one though

I bet he will spring up in a day or two. I had one that I thought was dead because I had a "body" then a day or two later he was there again. They shed their shell and It still looks in one piece..........crazy how they do that.

Unless you have a killer clam, they are sneaky you know, they lie around all the time luring their victems into a false sense of security...then they pounce....oh sorry was thinking of something else:lol:
