FS: 48" Giesemann infiniti fixture
 

have a used giesemann infiniti light fixture for sale.

48" Length
2 x 250W Halides
2 x 54W T5
Includes hanging kit
Doesn't use fans so the fixture is ultra quiet, made from aluminum for proper heat distribution.
Uses HQI ballasts and gives plenty of light for keeping any corals in virtually any 4 foot tank.
Fixture is in great shape.
Retailed for over $1500, will sell for $700 OBO including bulbs.
Halide bulbs are 6-7 months old, 14K Phoenix
T5 bulbs are new, 22K Aqua Science

Wow, if I had the $$ I'd totally scoop this up, nice light!

does it have 2x T5 or 4? Or is this an earlier generation of the fixture that came with only 2 t5?

It's the earlier model with 2x T5 which I actually prefer and purchased this one knowing the other one was available. Why? Because on the 4X T5 model the bulbs are more exposed and if your sitting level is below the fixture hanging level (99% of the time this is the case) you will be able to see the T5 bulbs directly which is very annoying and distracting in a living room or pretty much any room you sit in. This one has the T5 bulbs tucked back enough so you can't see the actual bulbs directly unless you're right below it. Very clever design and I'm not sure why they went away from it.

The pics you posted look like the System 230 T5? Did they totally redo the fixture shell later on?

It's not the 230, it's the infiniti, just not the current version, it's the previous version which is now discontinued. Yes they changed the shell on the new version to except 4 T5s instead of 2.
