Mountain Bike Gear Sites?
Hey guys,
I recently decided that after not having a bike since I was 16, it was time I got back into it so I hit up Calgary last weekend and got a new toy at Cyclepath  http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...ries/4300disc/ Got a smoking deal on a 2010, but now I need some gear, like a helmet and other accessories. Canadian prices are always crazy so I try to do as much online shopping as possible. For ski equipment I usually hit up www.Levelninesports.com is there a similar type site to get bike equipment at a discounted price? This weather has me just itching for the snow to disappear and really try the new ride out! Cheers |
Nice bike :) Treks are great nimble and responsive bikes, I love mine.
Lots of places but to be honest I prefer to support my LBS (just like aquarists on forums all these acronyms  LBS = local bike shop). For the amount invested in my bikes I don't mind paying 10% too much for a new helmet or whatever, in return the guys know my bike and me and what kind of riding I do and I think that's worthwhile. |
Check out www.ChainLove.com ,I've bought things from them I don't even need just because the prices are so damn good.
While I love supporting my LBS, sometimes It's hard to justify a 200% price hike to purchase a new set of wheels locally... |
I use the classified at http://www.pinkbike.com/. You get a lot of pro riders that sell their mint condition bikes and parts for next to nothing. I got my $6K road race bike here for $900!

The guys at Cyclepath were great though and this deal was really quite good. Worked out to be almost $200 off list when you included the store discount. I was really resistant to spending the extra money for a front suspension with lockout until I actually rode it and they were quite patient and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be going back when it's time to get the wife her bike! |
