Mag pumps

I was wondering, is it possible to interchange the Impeller Assembly on a Mag-Drive pump 1200, with a 1800 Impeller Assembly. I know that the front impeller cover is the same, but is the main housing the same?

From what I can tell the impeller for a Mag 12 is shorter and bigger dia. Then the Mag 18
