Id be interested in coming to take a look, is he only eating frozen blood worms? or will he eat anything else? Also about how long have you had him?

Cheers Todd

I've had him for just over a month and he is definitely eating blood worms. As for anything else, I am not sure. I bought 2 of them hoping to train at least one. Both ended up being trained...

I am curious to know how did you train them?

IME, they get hungry and start to eat frozen...lol

I find that training them required 2 things: different size foods and lots of patience. I started feeding them with baby brine brine shrimps (thanks Sherry) which they didn't really like and slowly moved them to eating brine shrimps and blood worms. They either start eating frozen or they don't. If they don't, they will likely die if you don't have enough copods. My mandarin male absolute loves blood worms...

I also set-up a separate aquarium where I trained him

My first mandarin started eating blood worm few days after I got it. And the 2nd mandarin started blood worm few weeks after being in the tank. My guess is that monkey see money do.

Also, squirting alot of infront of them helps. They are slow eater, so power heads should be turn off while feeding. They don't necessary going to chase the food, so its better to have the food sitting still infront of them.

Now both of them take blood worm, mysis, brine shrimp, and possiblily flakes as well. I guess that I was just lucky.
