Need Donor Media for Cycling a tank
 

I am having a hard time cycling a tank with store bought bottled bacteria and was wondering if someone with a healthy tank (no medication or parasites) would be willing to help a newbie by giving me some of your used spare filter media or anything with nitrifying bacteria with it so I can speed up my cycling.

I live in NE so it would be great if someone nearby would be able to help.:biggrin:

I would say keep using what you bought. if you added live rock your tank should cycle within a month. try doing a 20% Water change as it obviously removes some pollutants. good luck. hope you get what you need either way.

Like Pattyob said the live rock should do the trick. Where did you get your live rock from? How long have you been cycling?
