Handsome little fella!!!

Jealous, wish I could be in Hawaii right about now. Make sure to stop at Cheeseburger in Paradise before you go, there's one in Lahaina with a second floor veranda type seating area that looks over the bay and then there's one in Wailea too if I recall correctly.

When you're not snorkeling that is. :)

PS. MOAR PICTURES PLEASE!

Dog Faced Puffer

This is a picture of a little smaller DFP than what we encountered....but we were swimming over the reef and I just happened to look around behind us and there was a large Dog faced puffer just a couple of feet away....up near the surface checking us out......scared the crap out of me at the time!!!.......I had to shoo him away because I did not like him that close....we started swimming around and again I look and there he is.......stalking us. Scared me for a second....but he was just curious.

**The one in this picture was approx 24" from nose to end of tail.

Nice! I just got back from there myself. Where you staying at?

A few places that have some wicked snorkeling are Black Rock (Ka'anapali), Ulua/Mokapu and The Aquaiurm and The Fishbowl down in La Parouse Bay. I highly, highly, highly recommend the last two in La Parouse.

If you want to go over to Molokini give Capt'n Don from Seafire a call. They have nice small boat (none of that "cattle boat" crap) and will take you to the best spots that the huge boats don't go to. His wife will even come snorkeling with you! Their number is 808-879-2201.

If you want to know the secret turtle spots PM me.

I'll post some of my pics later this week.

I was under the impression that the Fishbowl and The Aquarium north of La Parouse Bay were closed to the public until August of 2012 due to excessive damage to the reef.

That is news to me. I walked there just a couple weeks ago and swam with the fishies. I know they had closed it off to kayakers due to the damage they were causing. If it is closed to the public I certainly missed that memo.

Anyone have any insights on the snorkeling in Oahu, we are heading there in a couple months. Please PM me if you have any info that you don't want to share in the forum. Also and good spots to eat would be much appreciated aswell.

Thanks
Craig
