phosphate in tap water
I picked up a seachem phosphate test kit, and decided to test out the phosphate level in my tap water.
and guess what, I have more phosphate from my tap water than my tank(6 weeks without water change.) |
did you test your RO water as well?
|
That one thing I don't have yet... A ro system
|
before I had one, I'd go and buy bottled RO water for my changes
|
ya... I thought of doing that when I started salt water, but, I am just being lazy. I have just been using tap water treated with Prime for now.
Managed to convince the wife to get an RO/DI system for the "FAMILY." but, being overspend on boxing day etc etc... I might have to wait bit longer before getting one. Although it's a relieve that I don't have phosphate in my tank water. I guess bio pellet and refugium are working like they are suppose to. |
I used tap water in my old tank, no real problems, biggest issue was that i was putting 5ppm Nitrate into the tank and taking out the same, could never get it below that. Didn't have biopellets running though, now after using them i have no idea why i didn't. There's lots of other funky stuff in tap water though, here's richmond's report:
