Quiet return pump
Looking for a quiet return pump for a friend, i know the red dragons are quiet any thing in the same ballpark as that pump for noise. Where does a guy find a red dragon pump?

I've got a Dart Gold that is pretty quiet, the only thing i hear is the fan on the motor.
Just my experiance, as to where to find red dragon's... I'm not sure, they've always been pretty much a dream to me because of the price. |
Shoot forgot t mention needs to be in sump. I have the red dragon return pump its a nice pump but pricey.

Eheim 1262 or look at the Eheim Compact+ pumps

Typically the smaller you go the more quiet so if he can get away with a slower return rate then you can get a fairly quiet pump for cheap. I've found the smaller Sedra pumps are quiet in the range of 3500 to 5000. For a little more money the Eheims are high quality and very quiet but again nothing in a substantially high flow rate.

ATB Flowstars are good - mine (1500) is very quiet despite pushing 1500+ gph @ 0ft.

if it needs to be in sump, i'd go Eheim.

i LOVE my Red Dragon Pumps. Can't even hear them turn on and off!
I got mine from Oakville Reef Gallery. I believe he ships Canada wide. Good retailer, very reliable and knowledgeable. |
I just got the ehiem compact 5000. Dead silent and moves a ton of water(1200 GPH) for its size! The flow star is a great pump also:) Have you looked into the super reef water blasters?

Does it really have to be internal? My Poseidon is dead silent. Skimmer makes waaaaaay more noise.
