how to use THREADED bulkheads/pvc

i want to get thread x thread bulkheads for my overflow.

questions....
  • How do you thread the pvc?
  • Is there a cheap tool or something you can rent from home depot?
  • do you thread the inside diameter or the outside diameter?
  • can you use flexible pvc with threaded bulkheads?

my goal is to plumb everything so it can be taken apart to be cleaned or moved with relative ease.
thanks
vince

thing called a TA (threaded adapter). One side threads, other slip for the pipe.

Spa-flex uses the same fittings as for rigid pipe.

The main thing to help with that is called a union. It allows you to disassemble pipes and reassemble with ease (well comparatively anyhow).

Example here: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/...ip-x-slip.html

You "should" be able to find them at plumbing supply places where you get the rest of your PVC bits. Sometimes Home Depot/Rona/etc carry them, sometimes not, seems to vary from store to store.
