Spotted Boxfish for trade
Hi, 2 weeks ago my mom got a spotted boxfish for or tank, she didn't know about its special abilities...
I just don't feel comfortable with it in my tank. Anyone interested in one? Im open to trades for fish, invertebrates, corals. http://http://www.facebook.com/photo...2&id=892270365 |
Is this an Ostracion meleagris? Male or female? If so, I'll take it off your hands..

Ya, I figured that's what you meant. I'm not sure how worried I'd be with one of those guys but good luck with finding a new home if you need to.

have you tried to return it to the LFS?
They should understand this blunder. |
I ask already, they said they would take it, but Id get no refund or credit...

You should thank the for providing such terrific guidance in your mother's shopping experience. The LFS in question obviously is more concerned about money than customer service. It appears they also lack the knowledge to sell the fish in question. The specifics of its abilities should have been mentioned as well as the sales rep should have qualified whether or not this fish was suitable. I would personally boycott the place. In fact.... what was the LFS in question? Maybe others should know. |

You can't assume with a fish like that. It is clearly a fish with special requirements. If the LFS "assumed" then they dropped the ball. It is there responsibility each and every time to qualify a fish into the proper environment. The LFS I frequent always ask the questions about tank suitability.... and bells should have rung on their behalf if someone never asked them about such a challenging fish. If they are seriously not willing to help you out with this.... then they are not "being really good to you". Sorry. But your LFS dropped the ball and now you risk losing everything if that fish cannot be taken out of your tank. |
