adding salt water

After numerous water changes in the last week, my salinity is a little low. Can I pour a cup or two directly into tank or should i mix it with water?

Just do subsequent water changes at a higher sg, never add raw salt to a tank.

good answer. If I notice my salinity dropping, I top off evaporation with SW.

I do the same with topping off with saltwater. Just go slow.

I mix up a gallon of concentrated salt mix and add it at the begining of my sump. I have put up to 4 cups of salt in 1 gal with no problems.

i know that you should not add salt directly into the tank and all....but was just wonder why???i mean are you afraid that the salt will not dissolve???

I tried that once when I first started out reefing and any animals that were unfortunate to have a little salt touch them had a bad reaction, needless to say I'd never do that again.
