Soft coral problem...?!?!

I acquired this guy who I believe to be a soft coral, when I brought him home he was very healthy and happy and stood about 10"s tall and firm...I've had him for almost a week now and today he has deflated and is not looking so well...Can you Id him and maybe give me a clue as to what it's needs are, I'd hate to ignorantly kill it...

TIA...

Softies often shed there other layer. Check closely and see if he looks to be peeling they do it quite often and will perk back up soon. Thats if it is shedding.

Definately a leather, looks just like my devils hand. Mine does this at least once every month, it is molting. What I have found with mine is to make sure to place it where there is a good flow on it to help it molt and it bounces back with in a couple days.

Can't find the pic of it when it is molting though, it turns grayish and looks some what slimy.

Hope this helps

Sounds about right, I directed a power head towards it and I could see what appeared to be slime blowing off of it.
