Seems that you are getting more and more Ontario folks, so I wonder if it would be possible to add a location to the Hardware and livestock classifieds listings (I am on a number of forums and all tend to do classifieds differently - I like AP, and michiganreefers is another that gives additional info on classifieds I find helpful)

Just a suggestion, as I have no knowledge of how hard that is to code or implement.

Currently there are no plans to split any of the buy and sell forums off into locations. Its just as easy to put the location in the thread title itself.

You and I both understand it is easy (and common sense) to put the location in the title, but not everyone does it as it isn't mandatory. I just thought it would be a helpful thing.

Yep I'm sure it would be helpful but we like people to come here and participate, not just head directly to a buy sell forum for their location. If they want to buy something specific for their area then they're gonna have to work for it :wink:

The mods here don't count activity in the buy and sell or classifieds as participating in this site?

Selling items is not the same as participating in reef related discussions. Many people simply come here to buy/sell and then are gone. So no, not in the true sense of participating.

To have specific location-based forums for buying and selling could become a problem. Which cities/towns qualify? Just a lot of work. They either post it in the thread or you look at where they live. On the rare occasion you have to ask the seller where they live.

If some actually read the instructions for buy/sell, although not an actual requirement, you place or residence is suppose to be listed. I suppose, like many other forums, which we are not, we could just delete any without their location.

then there's the people that just but their Province as a location :wink:

I have never noticed that it is a requirement to post location in an add but will make sure I do it from now on. And I think it should be in the title of the add.
