My new web site is up and running (almost)

Well as some as you may know I'm a 3D CG artist doing mainly visual effects. I have been working on my web site for a while now and thought I would give every one here a chance to check it out. There are still a few things needing to be fixed. The two main ones are, the front page reads demo reel instead of online portfolio. As well the about me link contains the improper write up. I since revised it (yes EmilyB you can read the new one and let me know what you think). Other then that let me know what you think of the web site and of my work. Oh one other thing! If you have a good Internet connection, Right click on my demo and save as. This will be much faster. If you do not have a good Internet connection stay away from downloading the demo reel and just stay with the QuickTime’s.

 Cheers everyone!

any one?

Is Snow Walker all computer generated? If so that is really quite excellent. Or just the bugs CG? The fruit is nice. The Hobbit is AWESOME. I remember that part from the book. Which one was Bilbo? The guy without the beard? After seeing the LOTR movies it's hard to envision him looking any other way.

You should see if you can track down a copy writer for your About Me section.

Looks great! The only thing I could do without are the little box icons. The boxes also aren't labelled. The print which states to click on the boxes is the same font size as the fineprint!

Other than that I think the site is very slick
I'm at work right now so I can't check out the vids but I'm sure they kick ass

There's been a trend in web design over the last few years toward unreadable text and cryptic icons. People seem to have forgotten that graphic design is intended to be a medium for the communication of ideas, not confusion. It's easy to fall into the vortex.

No just the bugs are CG. But that was probably the most challenging task I have done as a VFX artist. In the shot where the main character is lying on the grown it contains 5000 mosquitoes at any given time. Once I went through the very frustrating task of creating them, and animating them using a particle simulation system. It took 3 weeks of constant rendering for the images to be generated. this was only for a few seconds of footage.

umm the Kid, he is the main character. The game the hobbit is based on the book the hobbit. so the company that did the game had to make it look different... its all legal stuff. I think it turned out good... but it was a lot of work. Oh and what is copy writer.... the about section has been re written, I'm just waiting for it to get reposted.

You know.. I almost have a 50/50 on this one... it really depends on the person. But I will try to get that revised some how... any thoughts?

A copywriter is someone who does commercial writing, generally ads. The idea is to effectively communicate ideas in the most efficient and eloquent manner possible, versus literature where the writing is relatively detailed, or acadamia, where the reader needs a degree just to understand what they're reading. A copywriter could help you say what you are trying to say in a more articulate fashion. Depending who you are marketing your skills to, it might be a wise investment.

haa haa yeah the one that still is up there was written at around 5am while i was rendering out some images. So its a little backwards, But the new one is much betterand targets people in the industry that i will be aplying for. ( and i had people go over it as well)

Thanks for all of your insite.
