how much ounce or gram in an IO cup ?
 

So, I got an used and half full bucket of IO salt and it didn't come with the cup. Can anyone please tell me how much grams/ounce one cup holds ?

I will need to start a 65g, so have to mix the water tonight.

Instant ocean buckets of salt do not come with a cup. To my knowledge no salt brand comes with a cup. Just use a measuring cup from your kitchen.

Measuring cups come in different sizes (if I am not mistaken), so which one do I use ?

you will need 32 1/2 cups.

The number of grams varies in a cup due to particle size, for salt its around 292g per cup. 1 Cup also equals 8 ounces, I'm kind of confused what your asking though.

1/2 cup salt per gallon of water

What I am asking is that if I just have a bucket of salt, how much will I need to make a gallon of water of standard SG. IO says 1/2 cup, but that is irrelevant to me as I don't know how big of a cup to use. Hence I am asking for the metric amount that a cup holds. If I know the gms or ounce, then I can measure it out.

Look on the pail, says pail makes 160g (605l) and weighs 48lb (21.7kg) can figure it out with a little math but a cup traditionally is 8oz (volume) or 250ml.

I will go ahead with a measuring cup and measure out 8oz for 2gallons of water. If the SG is fine, then I am good.

2.5 cups will make 5gal of salt water. Use a 8oz cup as Mark stated
