Lookdown fish? Anyone ever....

Kept these fish before? Saw one at JL the other day and it was cool. I watched it eat and I loved how it begged for food and the way it eats is like that of a datnoid. The guy told me it was around $230-240. Seems like a fair deal since they seem to be a lot of money on the net. It says they are easy to take care of. Anyone have any personal experience with these fish? I might consider getting one when my tank is ready...

When I was there last I heard one of the staff members saying to a customer that if he wanted the fish he could have them because they were in too small of a tank and were getting injured cause of it, he said if the guy wasn't gonna take them he was going to plop the
in the freezer to put them out of their misery. I haven't been back since thAt cause I've been busy hut I don't know what haPpened to them

Never had a tank large enough to keep one. They get to be a foot to a foot and a half.

Why would the LFS ever bring one in?

Because moneymaking and publicity can encourage irresponsibility.

When did you hear this? I was there on thursday and they just had that one in the top tank. If this really is true someone should go and pick it up. I'm sure a member here would be able to give it a better life for a little while...

I just look at his thread and he ended up giving it to JL over a year ago. It says in his FS thread that it was trying to eat other tankmates.
