Any of you guys have some info on urchins. I'm itchin to get one. But my tanks are small so I'd like some input from you guys or some websites where I can get some info.
Very cool pic Thanks in advance George |
Lurch always carried the thermometer around. I can't find the pic unfortunately.

Thanks for the link. After reading that it seems the tuxedo urchin is the one to get. Has anyone had one in a 30 gal tank. Article mentions they like coralline algae. My concern is does my tank have enough coralline. I could switch him back and forth between the tanks. Or would that be too much stress. The water parameters are basically the same in both tanks. Ummm.
Any comments appreciated. How big do these tuxedo urchins get. George |
Re: Urchins
I don't think tuxedo urchins feed only on corraline. They'll eat other forms of algae as well. My tuxedos don't completely eat corraline, but just kinda scrape at it as they pass on by.

I had him about three years and then one day just recently, he just stopped packing stuff around and died. I have replaced him with a much smaller Lurch jr. |
