i realy hope someone can help .i had a 3 foot metal halide hanging over my tank and just had one of the fasteners used to hang it to roof fail on me .thank god light was off . my question what sould i do before trying to plug light on .the unit had water inside it on one end and i do not want to get shocked . i have taken one end off and glass to let it air dry

just let it dry.i assume the parts that got wet were just the bulb holder or socket and not your ballast. You can use compress air if you want..Just do this with caution, protect your eyes and make sure everything is unplug..

if your talking about just the reflector and not the ballast (external ballast), I'd unplug it and give everything a good rinse with ro/di water, then let dry. Reasoning is would concerned of corrosion from the salt water
