And in all my years, I have never been called for jury selection, let alone selected (lucky or not!)

I got the first call a few months back but before I reported to the sheriff's office, got another letter saying the case had been resolved, no longer required.

I got a call once, and even selected. Then at the 11th hr. the guy pleaded guilty.
Lucky or not?

at least if not selected you don't have to try and make up a story like the one I heard to day. A guy and his wife are taking there grand daughter out east to Toronto to see her other grand parents. The grand daughter is staying for 2.5 weeks th ey are returning the next day. The judge advised that his wife could take the grand daughter if they were only going out to drop her off and then turning around and flying back to Kamloops. I think he felt a bit embarrassed as he did turn a bit red, the lawyers ask him to stand aside encase they needed him. A lady had to take her daughter to a competition this week she was let go. Another guy went to school with one of the witnesses 20 years ago and has not seen or talked to him in many years that guy was let go. Badly planed stories don't get you off the jury it all depends....
