Crab hitched a ride??

Last night I noticed a crab crawling around on a peice of live rock. I didn't get to see him for too long, but he was green in color and about the size of a looney. To me it looked like an emerald crab. From what I have read, they can be a real pain in a reef aquarium (?).
So... if I want to evict hime from my proposed reef aquarium, how do I get him out?
Thanks in advance,
Duke

I bought my emeralds and they have been great...

Thanks for the reply.
I found some posts on reef central of emerald's chewing up corals and even attacking fish! Got me a little spooked I guess. I haven't been able to confirm this in any of my books though.
Let me then rephrase my question... Anyone have any negative experiences with emerald crabs?

There are a lot of posts on RC, possible even here on emerald crabs causing problems. Let's face it, they're still crabs, and crabs seem to eat just about anything. If they're not supplied with what you want them to eat, they'll eat what you don't want them to eat.

Green Emerald

I got an emerald crab who was about an inch across from lag tip to leg tip. I had a bad bubble algae problem from a piece of live rock I recieved, the algae was starting to spread to other rocks in my tank so I did a little reasearch and found the emerald crab is about the best bubble algae eater. this prooved to be very true in a couple weeks he had cleaned all traces of bubble algae from the tank. a couple days ago I did some rock moving but didn't see him till a couple minutes ago, he has doubled in size. now if I can just get more bubble algae....

I love my emerald. He does not seem to bother anything that is not dead or a nuisance. They are opportunistic, but if they are well fed and happy, you really should not have any problems with him.

well I think my emerald crab has eaten my bristol star and maybe even my lettuce nudibranch, either he did it or my coral banded shrimp
any ideas from you all would be appreciated

I have a terminator still just trying to figure out who......I thought it was my pistol shrimp so he has gone back to store on consignment but it's not him because stuff is still going missing or hermits being chewed up.

anyone interested in pistol shrimp he is at Paul's aquarium in Surrey he is in great shape even molted in my tank.

here is my tank contents now
blonde naso tang, yellow tang, blue tail damsel, blue damsel, 4 strip damsel, bubble anenome, bubble tip anenome, coral banded shrimp, cleaner shrimp, emerald crab, scooter blenny, 5 various small peices of coral and 3 types of mushroom coral and maybe my bristol still there minus a couple legs
and of course various hermits and snails.

Lettuce nudibrachs have a very short life span.
