if it's growing that good hows your nutrients?

gobytron 05-07-2010 02:37 PM

That's a calcerous algae.
not really driven by nutrients.

What are your calcium/alk and magnesium levels like?

Kevotron 05-07-2010 07:47 PM

My Ca is like 380
Alk is super low... around 6
Mg 1200

gobytron 05-07-2010 08:31 PM

do you run a ca reactor?
or do kalk?

That's not normally a problem algae. I would be concerned that if you remove a lot of it, something worse will grow in its place. Rapid growth of any kind of algae suggests to me that there is are nutrients available. Something will always grow in that situation. Chase the nutrients and be thankful you aren't growing something else right now.
