Farmers market on steroids!

In an attempt to continue on with the success of our farmers market we have been working on an online platform for selling whatever it is you have that is related to the hobby. For the next month the service will be free after which time a small fee will be charged for the service.

The platform is Auction style and can also be configured with a buy it now option. We will be announcing this new platform across Canada and also welcome Vendors to get on board and use the services!

There are still a few coloring bugs to fix but everything is ready to go!

Some of the key features are the following;

  • No limits on the amount of items you can sell (no need for vendor status)
  • No fees (Ending June 15)
  • Unlimited picture uploads and hosting
  • Variable Payment choices
  • Buy it now activated
  • Proxy bidding activated
  • Nation wide
  • Built in message board and discussion forum.
Basic instructions;
  • Register your information
  • Log in
  • Select "Sell item"
  • Make your listing choices
  • Submit your listing

Any questions feel free to ask!

I had a question or two because I was very excited when you first posted this. But then I read:
"The auction fees are as follows; $1-$100 16.75% $101-$300 15.00% $301-$1000 10.00% $1001-$10k 4.75% Free to list! Free to re list! $0.50 To highlight $0.50 To Bold $1.00 Buy it now"
I was just wondering why the fees are so large? especially when frags.org, Canreef, Ect. offers a similar service with not as many features but for 100% free. I mean don't get me wrong I wanted to post some stuff on your auction site, but if you make $16.75 off my single 100$ sale, that's like making pay pal fees seem cheap. And i would rather pocket the 10$ after Pay pal and post my own auction. For me Pay pal offers excellent functionality and security for only 3-5% per transaction.

Has anyone from the public used the auction service yet? The only listed vendors seem to be retailers. And I was also wondering what justifies such a high charge rate? Is it to cover the cost of the small things people might sell, like 5$ frags? Or is there more cost to hosting this service then I imagine?

The rates are examples that are not implemented at this time and we have no future plans to charge for the use of our Oceanic Live system, I forgot those rates were still on there. People have been successful in selling items on the auction, you are welcome to list all you like!

Cheers!

Well I am excited again if the 16.5% fee is never going to be implemented. I hate using a service that is free to start and then they charge you after a few weeks.

Wow considering that this will be in direct competition with yourself that's a very generous service to provide for the reefing members of Canada. Great customer service as always Ian :biggrin:!

It will be competition to some extent; however, we think our name speaks for itself in the industry so far. we can also promote our own products within the Action platform....

Thanks for the compliments...
