Scratches in Glass

Is there a good safe way to take the scratches out of the inside of my tank?

I once tackled that project with some "jewellers rouge" and a drill attachment for several hours outside in the cold. The scratches were very fine and after filling the tank I was happy to see I acomplished nothing... .

Well that's out of the question then. Any other ideas? I have a couple scratches in the front of the new (to me) tank I would like to get rid of before I set it up.

Don't abandon hope based on my opinion ! Although I asked at a lot of places and they all said it was in vain, so naturally I had to try anyway... .
Glass replacement, or here's an evil seed to plant in your head...what better time to increase the capacity...
Can we assume "the other side" has more scratches ?

No not a lot of scratches just mainly on big one on the front.
What about a small amount of crazy glue in the scratch?
