Today's the day: New tankless Hot Water and HRV

My buddy is in today installing my new tankless hot water system, with recirculating water... Also got a nice HRV system that will be installed with it.

Water is almost done, just doing the gas... Then of to the races with the HRV

I am so excited!!!!

I want to go tankless, interested in how it works out for you.

Um what is HRV

You will love the HRV

Hi you will love the tankless hotwater, had a 50 gallon gas hot water tank before, ran out of hot water quickly to fill the jetted tub, then a few years later it let go, hah never had ever a leak from my aquariums but this gas hot water tank. I got it when it was relatively still a new thing here, especially in my town, but apparently in Europe and Asia they had it for many years, less space it took and alway hot water on demand, its great when you have guests staying and everyone in line for the bath. The gas bill is reduced even better, ours is made by Bosch and we're very happy with it. Regards Ken

Just an update, HRV is fully operational now:

Humidy before install:
- basement = 34-35%
- main floor = 36-37%
- upstairs (where fish tank is) = 47%

After install and HRV running for about 1 hour:
- basement = 28-29%
- main floor = 28-29%
- upstairs = NOW ONLY 33 - 34%

I will let run for a couple days, remeasure and adjust controls where necessary. But Wow, much more comfortable in the house.

HRV's are the way to go!!!

Also, took my first shower using the new tankless hot water system, and again was impressed. My buddy also installed the recirculation system, and hot water is now available to all upstairs faucets within 1-2 seconds. Before it was much longer as the hot water made its way through the pipes. Also water is much more consistant with hotness and is much hotter.

I like, I like it alot!!!

Now have planned for next month adding something called the "Big Brute" system to the overall water of the house. Basically a filtration system for the complete household.

HEHE, then also discussed putting complete fishtank RO system in garage with heater enclosure system (for freezing), running lines for drainage direct from tank and then pumping water for top-off and water changes from garage. I am still thinking on this, but things that make you go HMMMMMM.

Nice! Do you have a link to the type of HRV you installed?

Very cool. Want to go tankless myself. Any links you can share would be great

Here are some links:

Hot Water: http://www.navienamerica.com/product...skin=ts_heater

The model I have is the NR240A

HRV: http://www.venmar.ca/AfficherProduit...id=5&langue=en

HRV model is the Constructo 1.5

My buddy who got me the gear and installed it is a ticketed plumber, I told him others might be interested. If you are, I can see what kind of pricing he will give to get product and labor to install. I got things for cost of course, but he probably would give a good deal.

All I know, AirPro and Arpis quoted about $2500 to me just for the HRV installed, I think my buddy can slaughter them, and he does better work.

for your HRV did to tie it into a exist forced air duct system or run dedicated lines for it?

From what I understand, it is running independantly so it doesn't need the furnace running to work
