well its time to buy new test kits
what do you use.

I use Salifert for Ca, Alk, Mg and NO3, Deltec for phosphate and Zeovit for potassium.

Elos are good because they are easier than Salifert, but Salifert are still the most accurate for CA, MG and KH.

Please back up your statements.
For Mg test anyway, Elos Mg test is a PITA to do because you have to do almost the same thing twice and then do some math.
Please point me to a reference where it states Salifert is the most accurate for Ca, Mg and KH.

I agree with the Mg test, PITA! But still easier to use than Salifert IMO.

I stated that Salifert was the most accurate because of the incriments of measure compared to the other tests. I don't use salifert because I don't care to know if my CA is 423 ppm or 429 ppm for example. I use API because for me anyway; it's good enough that it is between 400-420 ppm.

Hi,
I also find the ELOS Mg a PITA, the previous version was much easier to use…I now use Tropic Marin for Mg.

NO3, LaMotte, easy to use and results are very consistent.
dKh, ELOS, again very easy to use and consistent.
Ca, LaMotte easy and consistent.
Potassium (K+), Korallenzucht(Zeovit), takes time to get accustomed to.
PO4, DD and a Hana photometer.
