Bubble Magus Skimmer Question

Do you think the BM180CS cone skimmer is sufficient for a 180 Gallon, medium stocked LPS/Softie tank? They say its rated for 180 to 250 Gal. I know the 220CS would be more than sufficient but I don't want to spend the extra money if the 180CS does the trick. The major difference is the pump, Aquabee vs Eheim. The dimensions are very close.

when it comes to skimmers, i dont pay attention to the tank volume ratings. I look at what I have for livestock, if you have alot of livestock, you'll want the better one just because it works harder. If your bioload is average, then use the smaller one of the two. In my opinion all protein skimmers can be tuned to be efficient so its a matter of flow rate vs bioload.

There seems to be a bit of a void between the 180CS and the 220CS for rating. Somewhere in between would be nice, in both price and rating.

Im running the 180 on my lightly stocked 120gal and it is IMO a little over kill. I think it would be fine on a medium stocked 180 gal. Personally for skimmer ratings I always use the light bioload rating as its max rating but thats just me.
