Weird things in my tank too!
Here's one of the types of algae I have popping up in my tank:
http://www.lamint.ca/quinn/misc%20oc...2003/algae.jpg A 1" long chiton: http://www.lamint.ca/quinn/misc%20oc...003/chiton.jpg A sponge that has been around since early summer, getting larger except for one damaged area that was covered in cyano for a little while: http://www.lamint.ca/quinn/misc%20oc...003/sponge.jpg Weird little sea squirts. Nearly transparent, they're popping up everywhere in the back of the tank. Probably has to do with how much I'm feeding (too much), skimming (not enough). No big deal though. http://www.lamint.ca/quinn/misc%20oc.../tunicates.jpg Who hasn't seen feather duster worms. I started with two on a piece of caulerpa back in the spring, now my fuge is a veritable worm farm. I scraped a bunch off the glass and threw them in my display tank because I figured my cleaner shrimps would eat them. Doesn't look like it though, in two days they've already started to multiply. http://www.lamint.ca/quinn/misc%20oc...2003/worms.jpg |

Cool pics, Quinn
The algae is sargassum and it's awesome to see it grow big  |
No no no! It's evil! Spawn of the devil! You can have it all if you want it. Others have also commented, "sargassum can't be that bad", but trust me, this stuff is nasty. It just looks like crap with SPS. Worse yet is the Dictyota which grows in mats.

ROTFLMAO!!!
Are you gonna rock it now  Actually, t would take it if it did well without being attached to the original rock, but it doesn't :frown: |
Actually I've been pulling algae quite successfully. Tony and Jon both have the floating Sargassum but mine died. I think this is a different type, it's more yellow. It would probably look nice in a different type of tank, but not with SPS.

I used to have that Sargassum growing from a rock for awhile. I got quite big. Then I got a Sally Lightfoot crab. It made very short work of it.

Quinn, I'm with you buddy. Sargassum sucks!!! I had LR full of those two types of algae and they were a pain in the butt. Sargassum eventually went away and i still got a few patches of the other. Nothing I know eats the stuff.
