LED Lighting
I purchased a Damselfish that had been living in a tank with a Solaris LED light. The fish had a yellow stripe on top and was silverish on the rest. It has turned deep purple with just a hint of the stripe after about 2 weeks under my Coralife 150 Aqualite Pro fixture. Why is there such a dramatic difference ??

Could just be the change of tank rather than lighting. I believe some of he damsels will fade if stressed etc. so maybe something in the other tank stressed it out.

Although fish do experience color change its due to there chromatophoric cells unlike coral where pigment is derived by the zooxanthellae. Color change in fish is much more rapid and reversible (At least in certain species), unless he/ she is maturing or changing sex which I don't think is possible with damsels I'm stumped. Maybe some of the fish keeping experts can chime in, have you been feeding him anything funny ?

It could just be going thru transition to its adult colours. Most mature damsels look nothing like the juveniles.
