low ph
 
so i have been wondering lately why my ph is low it sits between 7.8 and 7.6 day or night my alk is at about 7-8 so is my ph low a bad thing should i use a buffer to bring it up or just leave it have not noticed any problems yet nor do i wanna have any manually dosing alk every few days

going to bring air for the skimmer in from outside and bringing up alk and see what it does ill keep u posted thanks whatcaneyedo for the article

yeah did it twice in the last few days and checked manually i will keep it posted as i bring in outside air bringing up alk slowly and ph was at 7.9 tonight

The quick answer is that your pH at that levels isn't too bad. It isn't optimum, but it is not likely to be causing any problems either.

The longer answer is to read the articles mentioned and think long/hard about how challenging it really is to move your pH to a higher level without causing serious harm to anything while you do it. It can be done, but trying to adjust pH is not something that is generally recommended.

yeah i wanna go slowly at it as well but when the ph got down to as low as 7.4 the other day it worried us bringing in outside air for the last hour has brought it up slowly well see how it goes
