midnight angel addition

I'm acclimatized a midnight angel using the drip method for about three hours and i put him into my quarantine tank and he was doing fine for about 5 hours now he is swimming up to the top of the water and sticking his mout out the water and gasping for breath rapidly and than falling to the bottom of the tank and laying there for awhile. I don't think this is normal is the anything i can do for him or is the best just to leave him be

You could add a bubblier with an airstone into the tank to help oxygenate the water, it might help a bit.

don't have a bubbler :(

If you have a korallia power head you can aim it partly out of the water which will create a lot of bubbles in your tank.

clever

three hours is pretty long to acclimate how was the temp of his acc water you may have shocked him putting it into the quarantine tank i usually dont even acclimate if the saltinity is close and temp is the same

GongShow 01-31-2010 04:12 AM

water temp was at the same as the quarantine tank

Chase31 01-31-2010 04:31 AM

what about salinity, how is the circulation and oxigination in your quaretine?

GongShow 01-31-2010 04:46 AM

perfectly fine the salint is 1.030 and it has a nano koralia for flow its only a ten gallon and there is a two other fish that are doing fine

well put the powerhead out of the water a little to add oxygen, have you tested for ammonia in the tank? and do you use tap water?
