Hanging my light

My lighting is one single ended 250w MH bulb in a DIY (but not by me) reflector that is a square metal tube with a bent piece of sheet metal to direct the light, what I had done before is run a length of furnace chain through the tube and hang it from the ceiling, now that I've moved the ceiling is cement and I can't get a hook in it, any ideas how I can cheaply hang this thing? Rightnow it's balanced on top of a 15g on top of the DT but I need that 15 for something else now

you could make a "tent" structure out of pvc and and it from there. pretty cheap to do and to make it look a little bit better you could always paint it

you can get drill bits made for cement. Many different inserts are made to hold fast and hooks could be attached. However, they will be permanent. So are you renting or did you buy? If the ceiling is a floor for someone else, then I would be hesitant to drill, as heating pipes or wiring could be in the concrete.

Well there are alread hooks in other parts of the ceiling, just not where I need them... But it's a top floor (17th) rental, perhaps I'll just have to ask the landlord as that would probably still be easiest

also Jon, did you move? Those zoas are still yours if you want em, the frags you gave me are still doing well thanks again!

you can get some construction adhesive and 2 hooks and glue it to the concrete, that stuff is amazing and will hold a hell of alot of weight, and then you won't have to drill into the concrete.

Rona, home depot, any hardware store will have the "PL" construction adhesive and you can find nice hooks there to.
