tuxedo urchin spawning or sick?
 

just noticed my 3" tuxedo urchin was discharging some milky substance from it's top. Not sure what it was. Looked like thin strings of sperm. Does anybody know how they reproduce? Maybe if I get another one, they'll breed. lol. Seriously now, has anyone seen their tuxedo urchin doing the same thing. I took a crappy video with my blackberry, but don't know how to upload the thing to my computer. Just hope he's not sick, as he is the best algae controller I've ever had.

From what you describe, that does sound like spawning behaiour. Haven't seen my own do that yet but I've seen it in other tanks.

They do that all the time. I've had males in the past, now I have two females.

i have two tux and one spawns all the time...just as you discribed.
