Who pays sticker price for corals?
Ive always asked if they can do beter on the price, and 9 times out of 10 get a deal. There is so much competition out there they almost have to give a discount.

Interesting. The few times I've purchased corals at the LFS the thought of bargaining never even crossed my mind. Thanks Chris...I've been missing out

I've tried that too, but our stores out here tend not to cave in when I ask. Maybe you have more competition out your way though, which might be a factor.

I think you're right about that, Tony. Between the bargain-priced place (where no haggling is really needed) and the high-priced place (where haggling is mostly useless), there is one or two shops where they are willing to at least listen to your offers. OK, maybe just one...
OF course, if you offer to pay in cash, and don't ask for a receipt, it makes it easier. Even the owners with the worst reputations will deal sometimes... But to answer the question, maybe 2 times out of 10... and that's when I remember to try. |

J&L won't budge an inch  .
However when I go to King Eds, I get a deal without even asking   . Most other places that know your not a newbie will give you a deal. |
J&L has awesome prices. If you bid with them aren't you insulting them? I mean, they do have to make some money don't they? What more do you guys want?
I think some places might be way over priced thats why deals come easy. |
