Euro Reef - RS model
 

Anyone have a Euro reef skimmer that they are running?
I bought one used and I can’t seem to get it going…

May need to have a disccusion to find out what I am doing wrong.

Whatcha mean "cant get it going"....the pump wont start or its not skimming properly?

I run a RS180, what kind of problem are you having?

pump (RS 6000) runs for 3-5 mins and stops...

any thoughts?

I would check the plugin and cord for bad connections. If that isn't it, I am thinking it is a bad pump.

Is this a new unit, if so, I would get it exchanged under warranty.

I bought it used and I am thinking bad pump as well - I will call euro reef on Monday to ask some questions...

what is a good replacement pump?

did u try cleaning the pump?

Ya, try letting the pump soak in white vinegar for a few hours, then re-try.

When I got the pump it was in very dirty condition. The first thing I did was clean it inside and out - she is very clean :)

if it is a connection thing - I think it is internal because after it runs for 3 mins it stops - this leads me to believe that something is disconnecting once the pump heats up. Once the pump cools off it starts again...

what do you guys think?
