Threaded PVC Fittings

How do most people seal threaded PVC fittings? Plain teflon tape, dope or lube of some sort, silicone over the tape? Also do you lube the gaskets on bulkheads and how tight do you tighten them?

I've used the thin tape or just dope for the threads.

Bulkhead gaskets used a thin layer of silicone but probably not needed, also makes the gasket want to push out. For tightening made a socket as didn't think the grip from my fingers enough.

On the bulkhead do make sure the faces or smooth, can have a ridge from the molding.

I use a thin layer of silicone to seal the bulkheads(both side's of the gasket) and a very thin teflon tape on threaded fitting.

I don't use anything on bulkheads and have had no problems. With PVC fittings I use teflon tape then a bead of silicone after its tight

On threaded PVC fittings I just use Silicone. I find silicone easier to use than Teflon tape. This allows you to reuse the fittings as you make changes.

I use just white Teflon tape.
