flow rate too much?
how do u know if u have too much flow rate? not sure if my fish are annoyed or like it
50 gallon 3 foot lots of rock with korilla 4 and 2 korilla 1 lol i know |
so this is about 2000 gph this is not considering my filters but i dont count them but they are adleast 100 each prob more, is there too much flow? i dont think most my fish mind but i think my cowfish isnt too happy lol

So you are about 40x per hour which is fine. My last tank ran close to 80x turnover.

I think that anything we do in our little boxes of water for flow pales in comparison to what mother nature can do... as long as your sand stays somewhat stationary I say up the flow...now this will depend on what you keep as far as corals and fish(in some cases) goes....watch your fishes tails...if they use it a lot, then they are working hard....clownfish are not really the most graceful swimmers, but mine swims head on into my vortech (prolly 2800ghp)

wowow thx for the advice guys i was worried but seeing how ppl have 2 k4s and 2 k1's in their 40 gallon makes me feel alot better!

The only thing is that he has a cowfish, which is a really poor swimmer & cannot deal with strong directional flow very well.

yea thats true anthony im keeping a close eye on him, he doesnt swim around much tho so im going to see how it goes for a couple of days and sees if he gets annoyed from it

dood i have 2 korllia 3 and 1 skimmer one 1200 biowheel and 2x mj 1200 on a wave maker ..... oh yeah and a 1200 running the chiller ... thats just lil more then should be
