Snappy's Lighting

Snappy:

On your website I notice that you are using a combination of Aqualine hallide lights and Koralen Zucht Fiji Purple T5s. What do you like about this combination?

They were actually Aquaconnect bulbs not Aqualine, that is a type-o. I used those with my old tank shown on my website and was happy with the colours and growth they provided. I have since changed to Pheonix bulbs because they are much less expensive and I can't really tell a difference between the two. In my opinion the fiji purples add some nice pop to the 14k 250 w MH DE bulbs.
I guess I need to update my website since it's been almost a year since the contents from that tank were transferred to the present one. Thanks for your interest.

I posed that question since I want to start adding SPS to my tank and I have read a lot of good things about your SPS.

I switched to Phoenix 150W MH in January of this year. Currently with 2 X 24W T5 Geisman Aqua-Blue. That combination is a bit too blue but helped me deal with the algae problem I had at the time. Thinking of going with the Fiji purples as well.

I think the fiji purples will help balance the lighting for you.
