Majano Attack !
besides using Calcium hydroxide and injecting it into their mouths what other methods are there for killing them ?
any live stock that eats them for dinner ? |
Best bets for livestock control are mostly reef unsafe butterflies such as raccoons and falcula/false-falcula butterflies.

mojano eradication methods
whatever you do you won't rid of them 100% unless you're willing to dismantle your tank and blowtorch each and everyone individually. at one time with mass infestation i tried electrocution, lemon juice, joe's juice, bluelife, filefish, butterflyfish which somewhat controlled them but also ended up finishing off my open brains and acan corals. i'm resigned to the fact that i'll always have a manageable few somewhere in the tank that i can keep in check with homemade kalk paste. just my own private opinion the 4 to 5 survivors are pretty neat looking like miniature bubbletips.

Yeah, that's been sort of my experience and opinion too, although I never did get around to trying the electrocution thing (read up on it, and gave it a serious think). I don't mind the occasional one or two. (And it gives me an excuse to keep butterflies. It's really too bad most butterflies are not reef safe because dammmmmmmmmn they are beautiful fish!!!) But yeah, watch the LPS and stuff.

Sorry...dont mean to thread hijack but...
Can anyone ID these? Are they majano anemones? There are 2 different colors; green and tannish. I only have about 6 that I can see. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...t/IMG_7473.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...t/IMG_7476.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...t/IMG_7478.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...t/IMG_7479.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...t/IMG_7482.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...t/IMG_7483.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...t/IMG_7484.jpg |
