I dont mean to be an arse or anything but have you tried freshwater dipping any of your fish. If not, buffer some similar temp and pH freshwater in a bucket, catch your fish with "bad" ick, and drop them in the freshwater for about 1 min, then grab them with your hand and scrub the crap out of them with a soft bristled toothbrush, then drop them back in the freshwater for another couple mins, or untill they breath very very laboured, then drop them back in your tank. May seem alittle harsh but having a dead fish is much harsher in my eyes, would you rather have some roadrash, or be dead??? This method has worked very very well for me and I have done it more than a few times.

Good luck the rest of the way. Did you just add new fish or did the outbreak just begin out of the blue?

Mike, you've been around too long to be doing that....are you neglecting your fishies.... :frown:

No Deb ,I haven't
Actually here is what happened. I bought a reactor from DOug and had it going ,for a week and then i bought some heavy coraline encrusted rock from doug. so i thought the the calcium would drop . . so i ran the reactor at 40 bubbles per min and alk was 50ml per min Well i left it for about 3-4 days and then after i received my tests kits from J&l's i tested with the new salfirt CAL and ALK. i tested it Well i messed up and read the test backward yes  BACKWARDS the cal said 650 not 65!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the alk was 15.5 yes so the hippo was freaked out and received ick with that it all started from that . SO in the long run lessoned learned    I lose my basselet achilles tang scopas tang 1 of the coral beauty\ies and maybe the other one will find out after todaywhen i get home.   SO that all happened in last weekend......... |
High Ca and dKH shouldn't kill fish, I'd look for another cause.
|
Probably pH went.
|
I put ick in the reactor.

AhHA! I KNEW it!
