Interesting Aquarium

This is different. Might be hard to make it into a reef tank and it's a bit pricey. But it does have the option of coming with a carbon fiber stand. Hmmmmmmm....carbon fiber.....

Haha, carbon fiber stand  that's probably some of the worst material selection I've seen. What's the most important criteria of your fish tank stand material, strength to weight ratio?? I don't think so. Plus it's strong in tension but not so much in compression. You'd have to be the worlds biggest sucker to buy that stand

Check out the hanging fish tanks on that site. Thought they would have to be pretty thin, but it looks like there is some pretty big chunks of live rock in there.

Oh, I'm sure it could be made strong enough It's all in how the fiber is laid. If they can make crash structures for race cars that can withstand 50g impacts and jet fighter wings that can handle the forces of sudden 9g maneuvers of 30 ton aircraft I think they could make a stand for probably less than 50 gallons of aquarium and water. Just think about how it would look in a man cave

Those do look thin in the pictures but the specs say they are 12" or 14" deep depending on the size. They do look cool too.

There's one of those tanks here in Edmonton at Marine Aquaria, it's pretty cool.

Talk about a nightmare to clean, Imagine that thing encrusted with coraline, No thanks.

Mr.nintendo 10-30-2009 06:39 PM

If you could modify the coffe table tanks it's be awesome to have a coral tank coffe table

SeaHorse_Fanatic 10-30-2009 06:52 PM

I guess for softies, but if you wanted to do sps or anything high light, you'd overheat the tank & be blinded. Imagine having to watch tv with a brightly glowing coffee table in front of you.

And yeah, cleaning those narrow tanks would be a total PITA.

Very cool looking though.
