Question about flatworms
I have flatworms:sad:
I have never seen them in the display tank but there is hundred of them in my CPR refugium. They seem to stay there... Any idea what to do? They have been living in the fuge for months. Should I leave them alone or try to get rid of them. |
Not all flatworms are bad. You may have planaria which are harmless. Check this page to try and id them.

Yep, these are the little buggers. Brown with a little bit of pink. Should I leave them be?

If you have a wrasse in your display it's probably preventing them from populating there. If you don't have a wrasse it may be a good addition to consider. Other than that I would leave them, the population is probably at it's peak and will eventually fade out over time. The worst thing you could so is over react and treat the tank, many people have lost entire systems because they treated for harmless flatworms.

Thanks Sphelps,
I do have a green wrasse in my tank. I was debating removing him since he keep on covering the coral with sand. I guess he has a purpose in the tank if he keeps the flatworm population down. He sure is a busy fish:) too bad he has no taste for medusa worm. |
