Expidited delivery

Is that Canada Post speak for REALLLY slow?? Tracking a parcel from Montreal to BC, looks like its going to take 10 day??? but yet regular mail is there in 3-4!!!???

KennyKen 10-04-2009 07:56 AM

this week seems really bad. ive been waiting 3 days for an overnight....

Expedited parcel is slow in my experience. Canada Post in general is slow though.

ya I love how they guarantee some things at like 2-3 days, then when your at 7-11 talking to the person their like " ya it might get there in 5 days". Thats right 7-11 thats where mail in Williams Lake goes from and goes to OK.

Pre Halloween rush. Lots of Halloween gifts in the system right now.

parcel

When we order from suppliers the package can arrive in Kitchener from bc in 3 days and sit at the postal station for 3 days before they deliver it 2 blocks away!

Typical Canada Post. They name it "Expedited" but it is really just surface mail that includes some tracking info. It goes by truck with the regular packages. The only advantage for businesses is the delivery confirmation included in the price.

When it comes to mail you know how the post office calculates the cost of a stamp.

Here is the break down.

Cost to you - Cost to Taxpayers

.05 pick up at your post box Burnaby BC 1.05
.05 transport to St. Johns NFLD 4.50
.15 storage for 5 -7 days 2.73
.18 sorting in St. Johns 3.72
.05 transport back to Surrey BC 4.50
.05 delivery to me in Surrey 1.50

.53 Total 18.00

I've found the same thing but going the other way. If I get something shipped from the west it takes a long time. I can get a shipment from California in a few days and it takes 10 within my own country.. Sad.

I'm waiting for some tattoo supplies from the west coast. the vendor only ships Canada post. I hate Canada post! Wasn't there talk at one about privatizing Canada Post? Should have happened.
