Help ID'ing a crab, and any information on it.

Hi Reefers

So I was eating breakfast this morning watching the tank when I saw one of these come out of a hole in a rock. I got a good look, then it scurried back into the rock. Kind of looked like a white tarantula . Are they good/bad? Any help would be great. The pic is not of the exact one I found, this is of a pic from google. Couldn't find any good information on it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Hope this helps... more than likely (Pilumnus verspertillio)

Would remove it. Keep it in the sump like mine!

Rule of thumb! Hair crabs are not reef safe. But they are great for speices tanks!

Is there a difference in "hairy crabs" such as the hairyness an emerald crab has and the one in this thread? Cause emerald crabs are "hairy" as well, or are they seen as "spikey"?

Thanks for the help reefers, the rock he lives in has been exchanged with the one in the sump.
