Pubic hair algae
You are spending to way too much time in the water! Normally, I suggest Hermit crabs for hair algae but in this case, maybe not............. Aaaaah teevee, you and I have successfully sunk the board to a new low. With any luck this will all be edited out! |

Hey it was Tony who originally called it that. I keep want to call it bryopsis but I know that's the other kind of hair algae.
******** Ooo! Just realized that this stuff is also called spaghetti algae! I'll edit my original post. |
Hey .. I um .. I also sometimes call it "brillo pad algae" when in mixed company ...
I forget the exact latin name .. it is something like Chaetomorpha linum ... I think most people just say "C. linum" I'll try to look up the correct name and edit this post if it turns out I got the genus name wrong. (Edit: I did get it wrong. It is "Chaetomorpha" not "cyanaria"). |
Linda will call it pubic hair algae in mixed company if Tony doesn't ...
