How to frag Fox coral ???
Has anyone ever divided a fox coral? My Fox coral is taking too much real estate. I just want to ensure I am doing this the right way.
Thank you |
dremel with a diamond wheel, cut the polyp with a clean xacto blade separating the polyp so each side has a mouth. then begin scoring the skeleton on each side. you should be able to cut right through, fox corals typically dont have too thick of a skeleton.

Thank you for the info. I will try it.

I've done it similar to the way Drock describes. Works well. Although I prefer to have several mouths on each frag - just in case. ;)

Heres an article that may help: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2007-03/gh/index.php
I like fragging LPS with a wet tile saw (paid $60 at Princess Auto) but if you can afford it there are some really nice hobby size wet diamond bandsaws like the Inland DB100 that make it even easier and less risky. Look on ebay for best price. |
Awsome, thank you. That shows well what to do. I do have a wet tile saw. Used the thing once.
