leducreefs frag tank+ sps grow out tank
going to build a frag tank on a budget of $300
looks like no one sells frags in leduc so i thought i should lol it going to be 24L-24W-8H with a 15 gal sump got some glass from ken at blue world thanks ken ! still need to get a sheet of glass for the bottom ? might have a skimmer lined up from Mrfish55 still looking for a pump and some lighting want to purchase everthing used ! if any one has any tips on frag tanks that would be great |
What are you looking for in the way of lighting, I have 175w and 250w MH ballasts as well as a 2x55w pc retrofit unit.
|
i think just a really good t5 unit would work its only 8" deep so it should work
|
skimmer on the way thanks mrfish
still looking for lighting and a pump |
so i got the tank put together last night just have to add in the baces around the edge and put on the over flow box

still looking for lighting and a pump i have a 92 gal corner tank for sale that i wold use for trades and a hang on refugium too i also picked up a 40 gal breeder that i will be adding for a grow out tank will get some more pics up soon |
so i decided to scrap the small tank idea !
and i am now going with a 40 gal breeder for sps with a 15 gal softy tank with a 20L gal sump got a pump now thanks dez also found some lighting 250w MH with 2 attinics and a ice cap ballast working on plumbing tonight should have water in by mid week here is a pic of what i have done http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/pic...pictureid=2168 |
now the big Q is should i put a sand bed in this tank ?
|
so i went with a shallow sand bed with a deep sand bed in the sump.
all the plumbing is done.but i may have to mess around with it a bit more i am getting micro bubbles like crazy  got some of the lighting done all i have to do now is skin the stand finish the lighting and build a tone of frag racks . http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/pic...pictureid=2179 |
